Overview

Impel is disrupting the traditional insurance market by helping companies regain control of their risk. The Leap Labs was commissioned to design the Impel Advandage system to leverage Xavia, the platform's "brain." We defined the MVP and built the interactive framework that allowed Impel to showcase their AI’s ability to not only predict risk and automate claims, but to be a truely integrated AI Agent within the system. This work was instrumental in positioning Impel as a tech-first leader in the FinTech space.

  • The Challenge: Captive insurance is historically a "black box" managed by expensive consultants. Impel wanted to bring this power directly to the CFO's desk.
  • The Leap Labs Solution: We took the complex logic of Xavia’s AI and wrapped it in a "Consumer-Grade" FinTech experience. By focusing on clarity and trust, our design made the leap from traditional insurance to self-insurance feel safe and strategic.
  • The Result: Xavia has become the cornerstone of Impel’s value proposition, proving that specialized AI can transform even the most traditional financial industries into high-efficiency, tech-driven powerhouses.
  • AI-Driven Risk Intelligence

  • The heart of the Xavia platform is the AI Insights dashboard. We designed a central hub that translates massive amounts of actuarial data into simple, actionable risk scores. Instead of looking at spreadsheets, users see an AI-generated health report of their captive insurance company, highlighting where they are over-exposed and where they are saving capital.

  • Streamlining the Claims Lifecycle

  • Aditional insurance claims are slow and manual. For Xavia, we designed a streamlined workflow where AI categorizes and prioritizes claims automatically. The UI allows administrators to quickly verify details and approve payments, drastically reducing the administrative overhead of running a captive insurance entity.

    • Automated Document OCR: Instant data extraction from uploaded claim forms.
    • Status Tracking: A transparent timeline for every claim in the system.
  • Real-Time Financial Transparency

    Captive insurance requires strict financial reporting. We designed a sophisticated financial module that tracks premiums, investments, and reinsurance layers. The interface provides a clear "Statement of Operations," making it easy for stakeholders to see the direct ROI of their self-insurance strategy compared to traditional markets.

    Xavia allows users to tailor their insurance policies to their specific needs. We designed a "Policy Builder" that uses AI to suggest optimal coverage limits and deductibles based on historical data. This turns a complex legal process into a user-friendly, step-by-step digital experience.
